Ir. Petra de Boer-Meulman

Ir. Petra de Boer is working within DNV GL (former KEMA) since January 2007.

She studied chemical engineering at the University Twente (cum laude) and have worked for the research organization TNO for 7 years, focusing on:

  • thermal processes of biomass and waste
  • electricity storage

Within DNV GL she is Head of Section New Energy Technologies, leading the New Energy Technologies team.

As a principal consultant, she is working on several projects, most of them concerning:

  • electricity storage
  • smart grids
  • electric vehicles

Some examples of projects are GROWDERS (demonstration of grid connected storage), ITM (impact of electric vehicles on the distribution grid), the Smart Energy Collective and Smart Grid Rendement voor Iedereen (a smart grid pilot in Amersfoort and Utrecht).
